So, I’ve talked about it long enough. I’m going to start on this project and we’ll see what happens. I’ve had this book by Rosemary Youngs for a few years now. I’ve collected fabric for at least two years. Now it begins.
There are 121 blocks in this quilt. I calculated that I could finish a block every three days and I would have all the blocks made for the quilt this year. I’m not planning to have a finished quilt by the end of the year, just the blocks.

This is “Alarming Conditions” – the first block in the book. Do not attempt making this quilt unless you are an experienced quilter! There are a lot of difficult blocks in this book and the first one is a doozy! Each block finishes at 6″, so these pieces are tiny. I hand sewed this together because the points just get chomped in my machine. Even though I calculated that I could take three days to make each block, I didn’t start this one until yesterday evening. Some of the other blocks are not quite as involved, so  I should be able to work on other projects throughout the year (Unlike my Chocolate Covered Strawberry quilt which completely consumed all my time!!)  Anyway, stay tuned for block number two. I should have it ready on January 6.
