This summer has sure flown by! It’s hard to believe that autumn will officially be here on Friday. It’s my favorite time of year, but I’m just not mentally prepared for it. Or “quiltily” prepared, either. If it’s fall, I need to be working on Christmas gift quilts NOW!!
What I have been doing is this:

I canned 14 quarts of beef and barley soup (there are only 13 in the photo because one did not seal – so we ate it!) I’ve also canned tomato juice, whole tomatoes, green beans and apple-elderberry jelly this summer (I may have posted about them at the time.)
And I’ve worked on my little hexie quilt.

I got together with Bev, Barb and a few other people this past weekend. Bev and Barb brought their hexie quilts along. Bev’s is the multi colored hexies. She’s assembling her quilt in rounds instead of rows like my pink and white. Barb only has one flower done – but look at the size of it!!!
These are 1/4″ hexies!!!

She decided against continuing with hexies in this size – at least for now!
