When I start cleaning out “stuff” – like I did with the paperwork on my desk – I find things that I have forgotten about. When I find things that I’ve forgotten about, I remember (well, sometimes I remember) 😉 that I wanted to do something with it. When I remember I wanted to do something with it, I want to do it right away. When I want to do it right away, I start another project. When I start another project, I have too many things to do!! So I guess the solution is don’t start cleaning out “stuff”!!!!

While clearing my desk I found notes for a quilt pattern that I wanted to try. I also had some fabric that I had purchased recently (darn that quilt shop that’s so close to mom’s!)

I added a few more pieces from my stash:

I cut them into 3 1/2″ strips (one of each):

You may be guessing where this design is going by now! I sewed my strips together with a 1/4″ seam:

Then I pressed my seams toward the darker fabrics – towards the pinks on two sets and towards the brown on one set of strips. This will make the pieces all nest together after I sub-cut them and sew them together.

And that is as far as I got this morning.

To be continued . . .
