I didn’t think I was going to post anything today. I haven’t finished any other projects. I haven’t started any new projects. I haven’t gone out and bought any new fabrics (that’s going to have to change soon!!) I had no inspiration.

Nada. Zip. Nothing.

And, as we’ve discussed before, if I don’t post by noon, it’s very unlikely that I will post at all for the day.

Yet here I am. Something finally popped into my head and I just had to share it with you.

Now what, you might ask, does a picture of mint tins have to do with quilting!?! Nothing really! But I like to do other types of crafts once in a while.

While I was cleaning up a corner of the sewing studio, I ran across this (small) part of my collection of mint tins. I’ve saved them for quite a while (witness the rust marks on the York tin!) and I add to the collection periodically. It seems that I cannot pass up mints in a tin container!

Now collecting mint tins is a harmless pursuit, until I start to realize that I have all these tins taking up space and no idea what I will do with them. I do use some for keeping small trinkets in, which is a fine use for them. But surely I can do something else with them. Right?

Come to think about it, I bet there are other people that save and use these lovely little tins. Let’s do a search on the internet.

Whoa!!!! There are a LOT of other people that have the same compulsion that I have!!!

And look at all the wonderful ideas:
