Mom and I went shopping yesterday. I needed (yes, NEEDED!) to go to the craft store to get some supplies. I wanted to pick up some magnetic sheets to print paper dolls on. You know, for the mint tins. I’ve got the paper dolls although they are a little too big to fit into the tins. I’ll have to scan the images and then shrink them a little bit. Then I had a little problem with the magnetic sheets. Apparently the craft store did not have sheets that you can run through a printer. So I had to put my thinking cap on and see if there was another way to do this.

Here’s what I came up with:

I’ll scan the paper dolls, shrink them, print them then adhere the magnet sheets to the printed paper. Then I can cut out the dolls and clothes and put them in the decorated tins. I’ll use the sealant to spray the paper so that the ink won’t run when little girls are playing with the dolls.

The yarn is for socks – once in a great while I knit a pair. The black fabric dye is for another project I’d like to try – faux batik. I have the directions in one of my craft magazines. It’s either “Cloth, Paper, Scissors” or “Quilting Arts” Anyway, I think I’d like to try that sometime soon. I’m not going to say “After I finish some of these other projects.” but hopefully after I finish the challenge quilt which is now due to be finished in 14 days!

While I was out with mom I also bought this:

I’ve been wanting one of these for a long time now and I finally gave in and bought myself one. I didn’t specifically care about the “bella” brand, I just wanted a small chopper/blender. On my shopping list I actually had “magic bullet” written. I was worried that DH would think it was a waste of money. And he did complain a little bit. But then I fixed us some smoothies (it came with five tall cups for that purpose) and he was sold. He wants to make milkshakes tonight with it. Guess he better pick up ice cream while he’s out today!

Well, it’s close to the end of the month, so that means invoicing for DH. Guess I better get to work.

Peace
