Can you believe we are at the end of another month already! How does this happen!?! I thought that I had a whole month to get a bunch of things done, but it seems like I’ve only had a week at most!

While time goes whizzing by, I’ll let you see what’s on my wall today:

I’m still trying to finish this wall hanging. The trouble I’m having is that some of these blocks trimmed down to 4 1/2″ inches, but four of them were 4 3/4″ and two of them were 5″. What the!?! I can only attribute it to working on this at different times. I used the same template for cutting but must have a different seam allowance. But instead of trying to re-sew to make them all the same size, I decided to just add additional sashing fabric around the smaller blocks. Then they will all be the same size. The missing block is on the sewing machine where I started to sew sashing and then got interrupted. I hope to get all the sashing done today. Then I am going to put on a sawtooth border of all the left over half square triangles. And then a final plain blue border. Then all I have to do is quilt and bind it and it will be ready to hang in the entry hall.

That’s all 😉

On Saturday I spent a lovely day with some of the Heritage Quilters. We were sewing blocks for our raffle quilt:

We worked from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm and this is what we got – ONE finished block!!!!

Okay, you know I’m kidding about that, right!?!

We were working on the different segments of the blocks and most of those segments are finished. Our fearless leader, Sue, was able to gather enough completed segments to put together one block so that we could see what our hard work was going to look like. I’m liking it a lot! I guess I’m going to wind up buying a whole bunch of raffle tickets in the hope that I will win it!! Our next workshop will involve sewing the segments into blocks and working on the border, which also has the chevron design in it.

Wow! the time this morning is whizzing by right now. I have a big pile of office work that I should be working on, so I better get to it!
