Summer time is so busy! I don’t have nearly as much time as I would like to play with my quilts!

Last night I made Chicken Spinoccoli Pizza on the grill – Oh My Goodness, was it good!!! I didn’t get the picture when it came off the grill, because DH devoured half of it immediately!

Recipe: It’s a little bit of this and a handful of that. Here are the ingredients:

Pizza dough – flour, yeast, salt, olive oil, water. Knead and let raise.
Chicken Spinoccoli – Saute chicken thighs and chop into bite size pieces, add frozen chopped spinach, broccoli florets, pine nuts and seasoning.

Roll out dough and put on grill pan. Spread alfredo sauce over dough. Top with chicken spinoccoli. Top that with generous amount of mozzarella cheese. Put on medium hot grill, close cover and bake until the cheese is melted and the crust is lightly browned.

While watching the idiot box last night, I did manage to have a little bit of fun. I took all the strips that I have cut for the Bonnie Hunter workshop and matched then together. These are the two inch strips that will need to be sewn together.

I also used some of the small scraps to make a few of the 3 1/2″ half square triangle units. I used 3 1/2″ strips and my easy angle ruler to cut the triangles. I think I prefer this method over cutting 3 7/8″ squares, marking a diagonal line, sewing 1/4″ from each side of the line and then cutting apart. I seem to have better accuracy with the easy angle method.

I am getting very excited because the Bonnie Hunter weekend starts in only 10 more days!!! I’ll be attending her lecture on Friday evening, spending the day on Saturday with my QFFs, then attending the workshop on Sunday!! Woo-Hoo!! a whole weekend of fun!!
