Click on the button to go to Bonnie’s blog, where you can find a wealth of information about quilting the scrappy way! If you click on the tab for Celtic Solstice, it will take you to the clues for this mystery quilt. If you are at all interested in doing this mystery, be sure to print off the clues now! Bonnie will keep them there until June 2014 and then they will be removed. After that you will not be able to take advantage of this FREE pattern.

Okay, I’ve realized that clicking on the button does nothing and I can’t seem to get it to work. So, click HERE to go to the main page of Bonnie’s blog and see what’s going on there.

And, Ta-Da!!, time to reveal what my version is starting to look like:

002

I’ve got almost all the blocks sewn together. I put what I had finished up on the design wall, along with the units for the pieced border. I REALLY like the way this is turning out!!! I’m so happy with the color choices I made.

Did anyone notice that I’ve done something a little different? My chevron units are the reverse of Bonnie’s! I know that everyone that has been doing the mystery knows what I’m talking about, but for those that haven’t – Look very closely at the button from Bonnie’s blog and you can see that there are units in the light diamond area that form a square. But in my picture there are stars in that same diamond area. Do you see it?

Yes, I broke away from the pack and made the deliberate decision to reverse my chevrons!! I just liked the look of the stars better. I’m hoping that Bonnie doesn’t report me to the “quilt police”!!! 😉

The weather is going to be COLD for the next few days, so I’m going to try to stay home, keep warm and get this quilt to the flimsy stage. Wish me luck.

Now for a giggle.

It’s obvious to me that I am now an “old fogy”! I was going to make the title of this post “going rogue” to imply that I was breaking a rule. Maybe I’ve misunderstood what that phrase meant. But for some reason, I thought I’d look it up.

Ahem!

I am never going to use that term again!!! That phrase has taken on a whole new meaning that I didn’t even have a clue about! I cannot even explain it here because it’s too embarrassing. If you’re curious, Google it and check under Urban Dictionary. But be prepared – you might find out that you’re an “old fogy” too. And, because it’s Urban Dictionary, the language will be offensive to some.

Keep warm and quilt on! Oh, and click HERE to go to the link-up at Bonnie’s blog to see all the gorgeous versions of Celtic Solstice.

And then click HERE to go to Patchwork Times for Design Wall Monday.
