Another day stuck at the office. When all I want to do is sit down and sew! The weekend cannot get here fast enough!

I’m going to try to spend a very large portion of my free hours doing some actual sewing. I’ve been doing very well with all the organizing work and I think I should reward myself. Besides, an even better way to get things organized is to sew things together. Am I right!?! I mean it’s great to get all these scraps cut into usable pieces. But what is the point of cutting them into usable pieces? It’s to make more quilts!!!

BTW – my system for scraps is as follows:

I have plastic Sterlite shoe boxes that I use to sort by size and color. There is a box for neutrals in each size and box for color in each size. the sizes I will cut are – 1″, 1 1/2″, 2″, 2 1/2″, 3 1/2″ and 4 1/2″. Yes, I will cut strips that are only one inch wide. One day I am going to make a postage stamp quilt with really tiny little pieces.

All of my shoe boxes are getting over stuffed. so it’s time to start using them. I think what I really need is a quilting retreat weekend, instead of just sewing on my own. When I’m on my own I tend to not spend as much time on sewing and get distracted by all the other million and one things that need to be done. If I have my QFFs with me, we tend to focus on sewing and get so much more done. Maybe we can plan something soon.

Okay, break is over. Back to work.

Peace
